The Masquerade
About
Opened in 1989, The Masquerade is one of Atlanta’s most storied concert venues, having hosted the first-ever Warped Tour in 1992 along with early editions of One Music Fest, Shaky Knees, and The Wrecking Ball ATL. After 27 years at its original Old Fourth Ward mill building, it relocated in 2016 to Kenny’s Alley inside Underground Atlanta, where it now operates four distinctly themed stages — Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and the newer Altar room added in 2024 — wrapped around an open-air brick courtyard. The venue books everything from indie rock and punk to metal, electronic, and hip-hop, and promoted over 800 shows in 2025.
Why go
The Masquerade opened in 1989 inside a historic cotton mill on Atlanta’s west side, with three stages named Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory. The original building was sold for redevelopment, and the venue moved to Underground Atlanta’s Kenny’s Alley in 2016, later adding a fourth stage, Altar, in 2024.
